On Ubiquitous Integrated Computing

چکیده
Ubiquitous integrated computing makes possible new workflow processes and business models which can meet the challenges from the fast growing digital convergence. An integrated information framework architecture is proposed, to cope with business challenges to merge and integrated data across domain boundaries. Sensor-data are captured and mapped onto a common (standardized) format where semantic web technologies enable seamless and invisible data-fusion. The proposed architecture raises several technological challenges. Efficient and reliable sensors that can operate in hazardous environment are required. Extended use of sensors may generate vast amount of data, and efficient data filtering, integration and reasoning are needed to benefit from the expanded data collection.

Ubiquitous computing (UC) has been an important stream in distributed computing, which is nowadays recognized as an attractive vision in ambient intelligence (AmI) technologies and home robotic systems. This paper, focusing on our work on the application of field programmable gate array (FPGA) in mobile robotics, presents a prototypical computing node of a ubiquitous robot (Ubibot) for indoor m...
متن کاملToward a Shared Model for Wide Area Interoperability of Ubiquitous Computing Environments
Despite many years of ubiquitous computing (ubicomp) middleware research, deployment of such systems has not been widespread. For such systems to become more widely adopted, we argue that a shared model for ubicomp environments, and a system to bridge such environments between network and administrative domains is needed. This paper presents work in progress toward deriving a shared environment...
متن کاملTowards Ubiquitous End-User Programming
INTRODUCTION We believe that end-user programming capabilities are an essential part of any flexible ubiquitous computing system. When these are well designed, and tightly integrated with the system as a whole, they allow users to add functionality that was not, and in many cases, could not have been, anticipated by the system’s designers. This enables users to benefit fully from the possibilit...
متن کاملTechnologies in Mobile Terminals Enabling Ubiquitous Services
The vision of ubiquitous computing dates back to the early 1990s. Ubiquitous computing is a model of human-computer interaction in which information processing is seamlessly integrated into everyday objects and environments. During the 2000s the ubiquitous computing vision has extended and blended with wireless mobile communications to become ubiquitous computing and communication. If earlier i...
متن کاملTowards a Service-Oriented Architecture for Interactive Ubiquitous Entertainment Systems
Ubiquitous computing is not only applied to doing daily activities and integrated into everyday objects but for entertainment, and gaming as well. In this research, we explore the relevance of ubiquitous computing to entertainment systems using devices such as mobile devices. We introduce a service-oriented architecture for ubiquitous entertainment systems to establish collaborative relationshi...
متن کاملSensor Networks in Pervasive Healthcare Computing
Pervasive computing, in technological sense, presents a fusion of various geographically scattered devices and software modules integrated into systems, very diverse regarding the purpose, architecture, and the used technology. Ubiquitous computing is one of the most challenging areas of the distributed (medical) informatics today. Instead of the literal meaning of the term ubiquitous, which me...
